Component Engineer
SolarBridge Technologies, Inc. has developed an innovative photovoltaic microinverter and monitoring solution that dramatically improves reliability, increases energy production and simplifies installation for solar systems. We are seeking a candidate for the position of Component Engineer. In this position, you will work closely with SolarBridge design engineers and suppliers to ensure electrical and electro-mechanical component selections meet continuity of supply requirements, quality expectations, target cost and product performance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical expert on designated commodities such as FETs, magnetics, etc.
- Build suppliers’ understanding of our technical, cost, and performance requirements
- Resolve supplier-related issues and non-conformances
- Resolve COS issues by proactively identifying and qualifying alternate suppliers for key commodities and components
- Lead evaluation and approval of new suppliers and parts
- Influence design engineers to optimize efficient component selection in new product development
- Manage programs designed to reduce total cost while maintaining quality and continuity of supply
- Aid design and FA engineers in troubleshooting and identifying root cause in component-related issues
- Supervise technicians in conducting qualification testing for new or alternate components
- Interpret test results and make recommendations to design engineers.
This position requires technical expertise, leadership, strong communication skills, and the initiative to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Qualified candidates must possess excellent oral/written communication skills and a high level of self discipline and organization. Qualified candidates must possess a BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A minimum of 5 years applicable work experience required.
