Regulatory Technician

SolarBridge Technologies, Inc. has developed an innovative photovoltaic microinverter and monitoring solution that dramatically improves reliability, increases energy production and simplifies installation for solar systems. We are seeking a candidate for the position of Regulatory Technician. In this position, you will work closely with the SolarBridge Sr Regulatory Engineer to verify product meets worldwide product safety, EMC, utility and other state or local requirements through in-house testing, analysis and coordinating projects with outside test labs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regulatory in-house verification testing to UL60950, UL1741 and IEEE1547 requirements
  • Project manage submittals to regulatory agencies (samples and documentation)
  • Obtain and review component data (spec sheets and agency data from suppliers)
  • Drive suppliers to complete agency recognition on safety critical parts
  • Establish in-house lab and equipment for agency witness testing
  • Build necessary fixtures for tests (such as anti-islanding fixture)
  • Perform basic EMC engineering verification testing (surge, radiated, conducted and immunity)
  • Coordinate full EMC testing with outside lab
  • Review agency reports (safety and EMC) for accuracy
  • Review product BOMs and identify safety critical parts
  • Monitor change requests to products
  • Assist engineering and reliability with engineering verification tests, qualification tests, reliability tests and failure analysis as needed

Qualifications:

Associates degree in electronics or equivalent with work experience in a technical field.

This position requires technical expertise, leadership, strong communication skills, and the initiative to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. Candidate should be able to work with utility power (such as 240Vac split phase and 208Vac three phase) and familiar with operating lab equipment such as: oscilloscopes, power analyzers, meters, surge test equipment, programmable power sources (AC, DC and Solar Array Simulators), environmental chambers, and some EMC equipment.

Qualified candidates must possess excellent oral/written communication skills and a high level of self discipline and organization. Ability to organize data and reports using Microsoft office products.
