Senior Applications Engineer - Shanghai

Position Summary:

SolarBridge Technologies, Inc. has developed an innovative microinverter that dramatically improves reliability, increases energy production, and reduces installation costs for solar systems. We are seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Applications Engineer. This position will have extensive customer engagement and will be responsible for providing the technical support necessary for large solar module manufacturers based in China and surrounding geographies to integrate SolarBridge’s microinverter into their modules.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with SolarBridge’s Sales and Product teams to support key accounts and generate design wins in support of corporate revenue and growth objectives
  • Deliver pre-sales technical support during the design-in, qualification, regulatory and factory integration stages
  • Deliver post-sales technical support consisting of customer/channel training, field support, and the creation of application notes, white papers and other sales tools
  • Become expert on all of SolarBridge’s products including the Pantheon microinverter, the Power Manager and the Power Portal
  • Resolve all customer issues in a timely manner
  • By understanding customer problems and issues, help define future microinverter and management products
  • Interact with SolarBridge’s R&D team to stay abreast of the company’s technology/direction and leverage them as an escalation path
  • Gather and report intelligence from the field concerning industry, customer, and competitive developments
  • Attend conferences, create tradeshow demos, and develop/deliver presentations as needed

A successful candidate will have an Engineering degree and a minimum of five years of Applications experience, as well as a proven track record of successfully supporting large OEM customers. Prior solar experience is desired. Essential to the position are effective communication skills (must be fluent in English and Chinese), strong analytical problem-solving skills, good planning and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment. Approximately 25 percent travel is required. The position will be based in the Shanghai area.
