Senior Power Electronics Engineer
Position Summary:
In this position you will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art microinverters for ACPV applications. You will work with all relevant groups (mechanical, procurement, quality, operations etc.) to achieve program goals and meet critical time to market product deadlines. Principal duties include component level design of leading-edge, grid-connected microinverters, including circuit design, schematic creation, PCB layout, and prototype evaluation. In addition, you will be responsible for delivering products that meet program schedule, quality, cost, reliability and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- This individual will drive cross-functional design reviews with the appropriate level of rigor and detail and ensure issues are closed with root cause and corrective action.
- Attend program review meetings and provide accurate program status updates on a regular basis.
- Develop products from concept, through design, manufacturing and support them to end of life.
- Interface with compliance team to ensure successful completion of certification processes.
- Compose Engineering Requirements, Test Plans, Validation Reports.
- Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Take responsibility for schedules, performance and cost objectives.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience design power electronics circuits.
- Advanced knowledge in the theory and application of switching power systems.
- Highly skilled in engineering analysis, managing product development programs, and in communicating effectively, both verbal and written.
- Strong leadership and teaming skills, and the ability to be effective in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
- Solid background in power supply topologies.
- Experience and understanding of application of magnetics to inductors and transformers to minimize losses and maximize efficiency.
- Design experience with FETs, MOSFETs, SCRs, TRIACs, IGBTs, Bipolar Transistors, TVS, etc.
- A strong understanding of PCB layout, component placement and routing.
- Competence in modeling and simulation of complex circuits.
- Competence in layout best practices to minimize conducted and radiated emissions.
