Company Named 2011 Edison Best New Product Awards™ Gold Winner,
2011 EE Times ACE Award Finalist, Top 300 Startup

AUSTIN, Texas (April 6, 2011) – SolarBridge Technologies (SolarBridge), a leading developer of integrated microinverters for the solar industry, is being recognized for its superior microinverter design, technological innovation and business strategy by several industry organizations. Last night, the company received a Gold award at the 2011 Edison Best New Product Awards™ in New York for its innovative power electronics solution for rooftop solar applications. The company was also recently named a finalist in the EE Times Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards in the energy technology category, and has been selected as #11 of the world’s Top 300 startups by fundedIDEAS, a research publication of VCWire.com.

“We are extremely pleased to be honored by these prestigious organizations,” said Joe Scarci, vice president marketing, SolarBridge Technologies. “It’s a privilege to be recognized among many well-respected companies focused on product innovation. SolarBridge is delivering a game-changing technology that is going to rapidly accelerate the adoption of solar energy – and the industry has taken note.”

The SolarBridge AC Module System features the patented SolarBridge PantheonTM microinverter, which is attached to the back of a solar module to create an integrated AC module. AC modules powered by SolarBridge convert DC power generated by solar panels into grid-compatible AC power, enabling up to 30 percent lower cost of energy. The SolarBridge Pantheon is also the first integrated microinverter to offer a 25-year warranty, matching that of most solar modules.

Edison Best New Product Award Gold Winner

SolarBridge is a Gold Edison award winner in the Energy and Sustainability category — sustainable power systems segment. This is one of 12 categories honored by the Edison Awards. The distinguished awards symbolize the persistence and excellence personified by Thomas Alva Edison, inspiring America’s drive to remain in the forefront of innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy.

“This year’s awards recognize a broad array of innovations including far-reaching products, services and technologies that impact daily life,” said Edison Awards Steering Committee chair Sarah Miller Caldicott, a great grandniece of Thomas Edison. “The awards applaud the forward-thinking innovations for which Thomas Edison remains internationally admired. It’s exciting to see companies like SolarBridge continuing his legacy of challenging conventional thinking.”

The ballot of nominees for the Edison Best New Product Awards™ is judged by 2,000 members of the not-for-profit Marketing Executives Networking Group (MENG), an organization comprising America’s top marketing professionals and academics. In a comprehensive peer-review process, the nominees are judged on marketplace innovation, marketplace success, technological innovation, market structure innovation, societal impact and design innovation.

Winners of the Edison Awards were announced on April 5, 2011 at the historic Capitale ballroom in New York.

EE Times ACE Award Finalist

The EE Times ACE Awards celebrate the creators of technology who demonstrate leadership and innovation in the global industry. Now entering the seventh year of the program, the EE Times ACE Awards are the leading electronics industry recognition event honoring the people and companies behind the technologies that are changing the way people work, live and play.

A significant portion of the electronics industry has begun the historic shift from information to energy technology. This trend will help sustain and expand several industry sectors. The energy technology award recognizes companies, such as SolarBridge, that have made the most significant contribution to this shift through the introduction of new concepts and products that help conserve energy or create new energy sources.

The 2011 EE Times ACE judges are leading voices from academia, industry and Wall Street. Winners will be announced at the EE Times ACE Awards Gala on May 3, 2011.

fundedIDEAS TOP 300 STARTUPS
